Apply for Seneca Hills Summer Staff 2008!

Dear Applicant,

Thank you for your interest in serving on the ministry team at Seneca Hills. This summer, we will hire 75 high school and college age students with a desire to serve the Lord and over 1000 campers through summer camp ministry. It will be a summer full of challenges, friendships, and growth. Together our staff will minister to campers in a variety of ways; counselors, food service, maintenance, crafts, and lifeguards will all work with one purpose in mind: to glorify God and communicate His message of salvation. If you enjoy working with youth, desire to share your faith, and want to be challenged in your relationship with Christ, then prayerfully consider serving at Seneca Hills this summer.

A summer on staff at Seneca Hills will not only provide you with an opportunity to minister to others, but will provide exceptional opportunities for you to be ministered to as well. Hear how the lives of two alumni staff have been impacted:

“Working at Seneca Hills has undoubtedly changed my life. I have a refreshed perspective, more patience, better ability to lead my peers, but mostly, I’ve never felt so comfortable being this close to Christ and to a community of believers. On a scale of 1-10, it’s a 21.”

“I was challenged to understand the Bible more clearly through counselor devotions and I was challenged to do a better job of befriending non-Christians and loving them. These last two summers have probably been the best of my life and I’ve formed some amazing friendships here that will last forever.”

College students often find the experience here meets the requirements for a summer internship program at their college, especially for ministry, education, and recreation majors. We are glad to assist you in setting up these internships with your school advisors. Internship or not, the relational and leadership skills developed make a summer at Seneca Hills a valuable educational experience for all staff. The spiritual growth from a summer at Seneca Hills has had a significant impact on many past staff members. Serving in this ministry can make an eternal difference in the lives of the youth God will call to camp this summer.

May the Lord direct you this summer as you seek to serve Him.

In His Service,

Tracy Mitchell

Program Director

The theme for this summer will be Choose…for the Lord is your life.

This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the LORD is your life… Deut 30:19-20

Applicants selected for the Counseling Staff or Program Staff who have not served on staff in prior years will be screened using the “Pennsylvania Statewide and National Sex Offender Registry”.   The camp will cover the cost of these procedures.
